DS (8) joined chess club this year and he really enjoys it. He has asked for a chess set and clock. They have tournaments every month or so that he would like to start participating in. You are supposed to bring your own set and clock. Any suggestions for a good starter set? I played a little chess growing up but just had a cheap plastic chess/checkers/backgammon set. I'd like to get him something a little more quality.
