My baby normally wears 3-6 mo clothes, but she's fitting fine in the 6-12 mo Gymboree stuff I have

Is this normal?

Gymbo can run inconsistently.

Did you get the stuff 2nd hand? I found their knitwear was very prone to shrinkage.

My DD is a solid size 6. She wears a 7 in gymbo tops (the 6's are either to short or to narrow). We tend to buy their knit stuff mostly though. FWIW, DD has a new pair of gybo jeans in a size 6. I have them rolled up once. Those seem to be truer to size.

Learned lesson the hard way on their stuff. Usually stuff seems to run bigger- like 12-18 is closer to 18 mo size, 6-12 closer to 12 mo. However, waited on using a 18-24 sleeper and it was too small after washing. I think sleep wear you can safely size up. BTW DS is small for his age. My kid wore the same size in certain things for a long time after about 3 months old.

The sleepwear runs small IME but the rest of the clothes run big. DD fits in a 2T in non-sleepwear at Gymbo, but wears a 3T at ON and Target.

I find there stuff to run tts to big depending on what the item is. There pj's are the only thing that seems to run small.

I was just wondering the same thing. I heard they ran big so I bought the PJs one size down. I haven't washed them yet or taken them out of the bag. This thread is making me think I bought the wrong size.

I usually buy shorts and shirts from Gymboree and have found that it runs large.

I think their sleepwear and woven stuff runs quite small.

Overall, though, I think it varies a lot from piece to piece. My 2.5-month-old is very large (at least 14.5 lbs), and still fits into the 3-month onsies from their newborn line. But the 2-piece beaver set I have in 3-6 months is getting to0 small. In the meantime, other 3-6 mos. separates are quite large on him.

You pretty much need to eyeball stuff to see how it looks.

Yes I agree about eyeballing and it also depend's on your kid's stature. DS needs to wear a size 2 in most shirts- he is broad shouldered and needs neck room to pull stuff over his head. But in pants.. He barely fits in a 18-24 in Gymbo pants and still wears a lot 18 mo pants.

I think length wise, their tops are inconsistent, but all their clothing seems to run pretty wide. Wider than GAP girl clothes, for sure. Can't speak for boy clothes.
