He thinks DC (10mo) will outgrow it too quickly. It is true that DC doesn't have a ton of room in it. DC is tall and slim. DC's shoulders seem to already be touching the sides. DC's head is not too far away from the top of the canopy (maybe 4-5 inches). DH thinks DC will outgrow it within a year. Thoughts??

I don't think your DH is correct. :tongue5: My now 4 yo would still ride the swift at 42 inches tall and he is very tall for his age. Plus, your dd's growth will likely slow down. Ds2 was huge at 9-10 months and then fell down to the 25-50th percentile. Very hard to predict growth.

That's what I think! We are keeping it. :D

That makes sense. I normally don't worry about this type of thing, but something about being on vacation makes you more cautious, Kwim

We still have ours! DD is 4.5. We actually had her in the stroller and 2.5 yo DS riding on the Hitch Hiker this weekend. :)

My 3 year old DS and 4.5 year old DD2 both fit in my Swift. In contrast, I can't fit DD2 in my Bee+, and DS will soon outgrow it.

Ok thanks guys - I'm glad you all are able to use it long-term. Who knows how much DC will grow, but I love the Swift and am keeping it.

Really? I don't get it - my 37 inch, 31 lb 2/5 year old has plenty of room in the bee plus, but every time I have put him in a swift in a store in the last few months, he has looked like a stuffed sausage (and he is not happy in there). He is tall, but not a big kid by any means...

My 3 year old weighs about 27 lbs and I'm not quite sure how tall he is, but he's tall for his age. My older DD is 35ish lbs, and she's on the shorter side for her age, but still taller than DS.

My small 25 pound 2 year old barely fits in the swift but has 2 inches in the bee plus of extra seat back. Check out these pics if u r on swap

Okay, I think I see the problem - I think I define "fit" differently. To me, fitting is that the kid has some head room and their legs can be sitting forward without having to go to the side. So when my kid's legs go to the side or his head hits the canopy, I think he looks squished. But that's also because I have quite a few strollers where he doesn't do that. So when he looked like that in the swift, I thought it looked squished. I guess if your kid doesn't mind though, then it's all good!

I don't think my son fits into many strollers with your criteria. He is very tall for his age. My daughter is even worse. Can't really be picky then.

Yeah, I would tend to agree, those 3.5 year olds look too big for the Swift. However, whatever stroller you can get a 3.5 year old to stay riding in without complaint is all that matters, now matter what it looks like. Unfortunately it isn't always what mom wants. For example, my girls would not ride in the Bee- no matter how much I wanted them too. I loved how small and smooth the push was. They both LOVE the Vista and like the Indie Twin (although not as much as the Vista) so that's what I use....

To each their own.

:yeahthat: I have to agree with pb about the definition of fitting. But if it doesn't bother the kid, that's all that matters.

I love my Swift, but size of seat was/is my main concern, too.
But in general, I aggree, "fitting" is hard to decide.

With his winterjacket and the big footmuff DS (18 months) looks already a bit squished, now. And he is not very tall or something.
I cannot imagine how he shall "fit" next winter ;) ...
In my definition the seat of the Swift is already a bit too small, but DS does not seem to care. He really likes being in the Swift.
So, I decided, if he does not complain, I am OK with it.

I would love a slightly bigger seat on the Swift.:)

For comparison purposes, DS at 3.5 and 42 inches in other strollers. He hits the canopy in all of them except the BJCCD, so I guess some would opine that he had outgrown all these strollers as well. I do admit he looks ridiculous in the Bee minus and Vista, but not the swift IMO. He was leaning sideways in the Swift because he was talking to me, not because he could not sit with his legs straight. He has super long legs so he really does not have enough legroom in any stroller - which is no biggie IMO.

Can I tell you I was seriously missing swifty today? I took the subway downtown, pushed the kids for about 8 city blocks and then used it at a museum. OMG. Not so easy to push two heavy kids around with Al and the hitch hiker.

Too bad I sold swifty. :(

Have you tried out the Indie w/the HH?
Thanks for sharing all the pics, it's very helpful to see the visual differences in seat sizes.
