Are there any out there right now? I missed the B&N coupon code on Facebook someone was kind enough to post about last week.

I think some people have found them at Costco for 19.99 or so.

Can someone explain this to me a little better? I have some really cute little elves I could use but I don't have the book....do I need the book? I don't think I get what the deal is with the elf.

Basically the elf is Santa's helper who keeps an eye on things, and then goes to report to Santa each night. So each morning he's in a different place. if I remember correctly, you guys don't do Santa, so it might not make a lot of sense to do elf on the shelf. The book basically lays out the story.

Thanks!! I googled it and read about Magic Elves and Christopher Popinkins also. Interesting. Then I found this funny blog about it: http://www.ragamuffinsoul.com/2009/12/the-elf-on-the-shelf-my-parenting-manual-and-near-death/

Sorry to hijack guys!

Thanks. Guess I'll have to make a Costco run. It doesn't look like they're available online.

My Costco didn't have the elf. Any other suggestions, please?

Actually, we still have the book from last year, but I'm embarrassed to say I cannot find our little elf. I don't know whether it's possible to buy just the elf?

I was just able to get it for my niece using this coupon. I believe this is the best deal around.
