Without the car seat adapter? If not, when can they? It seems like LO wouldn't really fit for a few months, but I can't find what Baby Jogger says about this.

Need to decide on a double so I can take my 2.5 year old and newborn out of the house by myself!

Yes, a newborn can lay flat in the bjcmd. We had a snuzzler to use with ds2 in it,but we never did.

I used mine from when DS2 was about 2 weeks old. I never owned a car seat adapter for my BJCMD.

Yes, the BJCMD is rated from 0 months in fully reclined position. As another mom mentioned, you may want to spend a few bucks on a padded insert like a Snuzzler.
