We will be in West Hollywood over the Thanksgiving weekend, staying w/ friends in a small apt. Any recs (other than Disney) of close by & fun indoor/outdoor activities for our 2 yo? Nice parks, playgrounds, indoor play centers, etc? We won't have our own car, so nothing too far out. Thanks!

We live in West Hollywood ... lots of things to do in the area

Go the The Grove... stop in at the Pottery barn Kids store and let the kiddos play.... then take a trolley ride (free) ... you can check out the gingerbread "santa's" house. In the evenings there is Bubble "snow" (at 7pm and 8pm) The tree is HUGE! Hit the Original Farmers Market for lunch or a snack of some sort. http://www.farmersmarketla.com/

For parks ... adjacent to the Grove is Pan Pacific Park. The newer play structure (on the Beverly Blvd. side) is nice, it's a train and they have that spongy footing.... on the Library side they have a play structure with sand. http://www.laparks.org/dos/reccenter/facility/panPacificRC.htm

West Hollywood Park just opened the new Library ... supposedly wonderful and the play structures there are nice too. http://www.weho.org/index.aspx?page=1032

Indoor play space check out ROMP https://www.romp-la.com/content/ROMP_Deals/1011

For museums

The Page Museum (think small dinosaur museum) is fun for kids and there are park grounds outside for the kids to run around and play.... do pencil rolls down the big grassy hills. http://www.tarpits.org/

The Peterson Auto Museum is close. http://www.petersen.org/default.cfm?docid=1001

Zimmer Museum is close too ... I've never been though http://www.zimmermuseum.org/

here is a decent listing of kid friendly museums in the LA area (not all of them are that close to West Hollywood though)

If you have access to a car and the weather is nice you could head up to Franklin Canyon and take a nice walk around the reservoir/lake and feed the ducks
