DS's new Monterey came today..Question

The manufacture date is 8/10, it's over a year old. Do HBB expire the same way the harnessed seats expire? If so, should I send this seat back and look for one with a more recent manufacture date (more recent being one manufactured right before they changed to Diono and stopped making these)?

It says it's good for 6 years, on page 6.

Yeah. I finally found that. I decided to keep it. DS is 7. That gives 4.5 more years in this seat. I'm not sure he will be in a HBB past 10 (depending on his size and our cars reall). Plus, DD's FR85 now has 7 years left on it (it's a 9 yr exp I believe--pls correct me if I am wrong). DD is 4 so 7 more years gets her to age 11. I think we are set until we need backless boosters at some point.
