So last night I pulled two containers of cooked, pureed (sp?) beets out of the freezer. I was going to use them for beet brownies for Thanksgiving.

I totally forgot about them and left them sitting there all day. They were totally thawed and not really cold anymore by the time I remembered. I almost always toss everything questionable, but wanted to ask because I am really annoyed to toss these, since they are from the CSA and it's kind of a pain to cook and puree them and I already promised to bring this to Thanksgiving.

Then again, I don't want to serve anything iffy to others. WDYT? I have also left a message for my friend who works for DHEC to ask her.

ETA: Can I even buy beets in the store this time of year? UGH, why did I forget these!

I'd use them. You're going to be cooking them to a safe temp. I dunno about serving it to guests...but I'd eat them:)

I vote use them and keep them for yourself!!

eta: I wouldn't be worried about them making your guests sick...more just that they might find out about it...
