I am wanting to get DD a trek bike for Christmas. She is 8 years old and a new rider. Her current bike is a 16" Schwinn that we got at Toys R Us and it is ridiculously too small.
I went to our Trek store and saw the Mystic which is what I went in to purchase and it looked so small I passed on it. She's tried out several 20" bikes at Toys R Us and Target, so I assumed that is what she needed, but now I am wondering if she can't handle a 24" Trek. I was looking at the MT 220 if that makes a difference.
My question is this...Trek advertises dialed in sizing. What is this? Does this mean I can adjust not only the height of the seat, but also the frame itself?
Anyone care to share the stats of their kiddo and the size bike they have? Last I checked DD was about 54 inches tall. This was over the summer, so she might even be taller than that by now.
