I finally got to my goal weight! :yay:

I actually weigh the same as I did pre-kids,which I thought was just plain impossible.

I am SO happy!

The only disappointment is that now I can really see my stretched tummy skin. I think I was so thin when I had DS1 that my skin and stomach muscles got really stretched out. Any tips to address that short of surgery?

Try the Mederma stretch mark cream. It won't make them go away, but it makes them a lot less noticeable.

And CONGRATULATIONS! That is awesome!

Thanks! I don't have stretch marks, the whole tummy area is just stretched out. I've been doing abs but that is not solving the problem. I have no idea how to tone this area or if it is even possible.

i'm wondering the same thing about the saggy skin...i know some crunches would go a long way, but the loose skin thing is an issue too.

Thanks all! I was actually inspired by other mamas here - elektra, hillview, larsmal - just to name a few. :). They showed me that getting back into fighting shape was possible! The loose skin is more noticeable now though. Let me know if anyone has any ideas or suggestions.

Congratulations! Way to go!

I am below my pre-preggo weight, but unfortunately, have yet to find a nonsurgical solution to the saggy skin issue. I also have abdominal separation (diastasis recti) that I have been unable to resolve in PT. I am working on toning now and can only hope for improvement in my skin appearance!

Melbel, I am pretty sure I have diastasis as well. Did you talk to your regular doctor about it?

My OB/GYN is the one who diagnosed me along with a PT. I have referrals for surgeons, but I am not willing to go forward yet. I will likely need further back surgeries in the future, so I could possibly combine the procedures (my uneducated hope anyway). The repair of my abdominal wall should theoretically also help with my back pain too, so I am at least keeping an open mind toward surgery.

That's great! :cheerleader1:
I don't have the same problem with tummy skin (well a little bit but it's not too bad), but I understand why that would bug you after losing all the weight.
I would start by asking your GP/primary care doc. It's what I did with my varicose vein issue. She gave me a referral to a surgeon which I have yet to follow up on.

I can say I've seen great improvement in my abs with just two months of Pilates. I go to a Pilates studio for classes 2-3 times a week now for the past 7-8 weeks. It won't make extra skin go away but might be worth seeing what kind of improvement you can get by really getting the abs toned up. I'm seriously loving pilates!

Congratulations!! I'm thrilled for you and so inspired by all the BBB mamas who have "re-claimed" your bodies. Hope to be there on the other side within the next 6 months-1 year. I just started a 2/week kickboxing class last month and it's awesome!

You need an elliptical! ;)

I have thought about pilates. Tried it once and loved it. Maybe I can look into weekend classes as my week is already jam-packed. I will also talk to my primary physician about diastasis at my upcoming physical. Hope she is impressed by my new weight! :tongue5:

:yeahthat: I'm hoping to join you too...and not just reclaim body, but get it a little better.

I too suggest pilates. I restarted 2x a week and I can really feel it in my abs. It hurts to breathe.
