s/o Kindra's thread on best cords. How are people wearing the Anthro/Pilcro cords that so many of us snapped up on sale last month? I don't like the tucked in shirt look with the high waist cords. It makes me feel like grandpa with pants up to my chest! I'd love to see pics or hear/see how you're wearing them!

First a comment. I went and got a pair of dark olive pilcro cords (they are quite snug on me) and washed them and dried them and then took them to be hemmed. I did not account for the stretch in the waist, and that you can't really use a belt to hold these pants up like you can on lower waist pants, so yes now my hems are a draggin!! I suppose I should have worn them an hour or so to see where the waist/hem would end up.

And how I wore them. So I wore them with a light grey LE canvas LS tshirt, tucked in, and then a huge long light grey sweater (sideways cardigan), brown leather belt on the outisde of the sweater with short brown boots. Not intentional, but no one could really see the high waist part of the pants.

ETA cached picture of cardigan, which was just in stock yesterday!

I have been wearing them with this top.

It's gathered at the bottom and so it has a sort of tucked in look without having to tuck in and you can see the high waist.

My legs do look a little freakishly long in them though! People have commented, but I am embracing the long-legged look here. :)

But I have also worn them with "regular" t's and sweaters where you cant really tell they are highwaisted or not.

Thanks! I prefer covering the high waist but I also find it challenging. I wore it with a long sweater that's fitted at the bottom and it looks really weird because the button waist tab really pops through. I think what you have it with is cool, elektra, something that's hip length but gathered/not fitted at the waist so the button tab doesn't show.

I wish I had been able to find that cute Anthro owl top to go with it, in my size! Here's another top from Anthro that might work:

What do we think about pairing with a wrap sweater like this? What would one wear underneath that would work with that waist?

I am not a regular poster in this section, but I have worn these cords with a cowl neck tshirt from the gap. Not tucked in.

Other than that, I have been wondering what else I own might work with them! I think a looser long sweater might work?

I would not tuck anything into these cords unless it's a really blousy look like Elektra's.

I embraced the 70's-ness of the cords and ran with it. :) Actually this was for a YLF Dress the Decades challenge, we were doing a different decade each day and this was the 70's day.

Wore it with my Target Missoni shirt, Anthro mustard blazer and Chie Mihara sandals. Sorry for the length, it's a little too long but I've been too lazy/busy to get it hemmed yet.

I thought it was funny that I used to think my mom's clothes from the 70's were so loud and silly looking and now I'm wearing the same exact type of clothes! Here's a pic of me and mom when I was a newborn:

Citymama, good suggestion for the yellow owl print blouse. I have that one so I'll give it a try! Do you have the Arivecchi poncho? That might be a cute combo. You could also try a turtleneck with a belt over it. I actually like the tucked-in high-waisted look but if you don't, it's fine to wear shirts and tunics over it untucked like I did in the pics above.

Oh, I loooove the pic of your mom and you, GP! So precious. I see where you get your good looks from!! She looks so much like a friend of mine, I did a double take thinking my pal was secretly golden pig!!! I love your looks, all of you who have posted. I especially like the mustard yellow contrast with the pants. I take it back - I love the cords!!
