Planning on getting DS a kitchen for Xmas, but I'm totally lost on which one. I tend to lean toward the wooden variety, but I know he would totally love a plastic kitchen. Costco has a Step 2 kitchen that DS is drooling over. Then there's also the KidKraft kitchen for $99 in a recent thread.

IDK which way to go. Tell me about your kitchen...what are your kids favorites?

We just bought our DS the suite elite kidkraft one on amazon

but I was also looking at the TreeHaus one which is a great price and looks a lot like the super expensive Waldorfy type ones that's available at JCPenney of all places!

I haven't got up the courage to put it together yet, so it's in the box in our living room, and will have to wait for a quiet couple of hours before Christmas so I can give it my full attention. But DS loves his friend's little kitchen (I forget which one it is) and that's what gave us the idea. I think it looks so cute!

We have the Kidkraft Deluxe Let's Cook Kitchen for DS and he loves it (almost as much as I do, LOL)! We liked it because it's very gender-neutral, as well as big/tall enough to last a good while without taking up an insane amount of space.

We love the IKEA one. Very simple but attractive and sturdy. I appreciate that it can easily be adjusted for three heights, so I know it will last a long time.

I'm not sure if this is a consideration for you, but I also considered how it could be repurposedbif sprog ever decides she's done with a kitchen. With a tiny bit of adaptation it would make a great little workbench or just a cupboard.

In lieu of a kitchen, we bought my son 'real' cooking stuff and he has his own stuff and on occasssion would help me cook. I gave him a variety of cooking gear from the dollar store and IKEA and he used his imagination and anything was his kitchen.
