to be more specific do you put away each set seperatly so all the peices from a given scene stay together or do you just dump it all into one big bin and have to find all the tiny peices again when ever you need them?

we just started with playmobil and ds loves it but i can't figure out how to store it

thanks!!!!

I have all of the larger bits - people, animals, etc in a bin. The really small pieces are in a container in the closet away from little hands.

Multiple bins. Big sets stay together in their closets and then the smaller pieces are in bins.

We don't have that many, so they're all in one bin right now.

If you have an Ikea near, these boxes are great for Playmobil (and Imaginext)! They have the moveable dividers so you can organize the pieces into different compartments. Plus, they stack. We have a Nilo table that the Summer House and the big sets on. On a bookshelf I have the take along vet hospital and various other parts of our Playmobil & Imaginext.

Those are cute bins, but I'd need about 200 of them at this point....

We keep sets together similar to the sets above. We use snapware though because we don't have an Ikea.

In bins -- they are maybe 1foot x 1 foot and we have 3 of them. I also have some part storage bins from the hardware store. We maybe have 3-4 sets so it works ok.

In a rolling under-the-bed box, which is subdivided with clear plastic shoeboxes, one for people, for what we call "tiny bits" (so the really small pieces are easier to find), and then a couple of others for medium sized pieces like furniture, trees, etc.

Larger structures like a take-along house and a small horse stable as well as the vehicles are just placed on the bookshelves in DD's room.

I reorganized my sons toys at the beginning of last year. If you look at the photo album it has pics of how we organized his Playmobil. DS's is in his room on Expedit shelf from Ikea. We use the Men's shoe boxes from the Container Store for little pieces. I have heard the sweater boxes work well in the Expedit, as well. For, the most part every thing is still organized the same way. But, I will have to add a Firemen box after Christmas.;)
