Hi all-
I want to get my two older kids legos, even though i know I'll probably regret it later, I'm looking at this for DD1:
http://www.walmart.com/ip/LEGO-5560/11063057

and a similar one for DS, can anyone recommend where they bought them online? Its hard for me to get to Walmart or Target, just need to know if there is a big difference between the two stores as far as shipping/customer service?

thanks!

We have two of the sets that you linked to plus many more sets and it's still not nearly enough Legos for my boys. So I got them these from Walmart on BF when they were $30: http://www.walmart.com/ip/LEGO-LEGO5512/17133548?findingMethod=rr They're out of stock most places now (you can check--maybe your store has them), but they're being sold on ebay.

Even with the inflated prices on ebay, if you can get one for $60 after shipping it's still a better deal than the smaller sets IMO. You can also keep checking walmart.com and maybe they'll come back in stock.

I paid $15 last year for the blue box like that one. I think it was a price drop on Amazon. It's not very many bricks, really.

I personally wouldn't pay $60 for the XXL set...it is all basic bricks (no wheels, doors, windows etc). They were $39 at Walmart.com yesterday, but are OOS, I would check back. I just bought one on BF and it looks like a great starter set for $30 or $40, but I'm not sure I'd spend $60 on it. (especially knowing an EBAYER is almost doubling their $).

Anyway, we have the smaller pink box and the blue box with 405 pieces. They are a good starting point, but yes, you may find you will need (many) more.

From there we moved to smaller City sets and the other "Bricks and More" sets that are about $10, but you can often find them on sale at TRU etc for less. I bought a bunch once at $5 from the LEGO Store when they did a clearance. http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=5930-1

If you shop at TRU, just watch the price vs actual MSRP, TRU can tend to inflate the price. Check the MSRP on www.brickset.com (http://www.brickset.com)

Do you have Barnes and Noble near you? They sell at MSRP and in-store you can use coupons for 30-50% off and they do sometimes carry those buckets.
