View Full Version : Light sabers for b'day party favor?
Looking for light sabers for DS's 6th bday party. Need about 10, so would like something @ $5 and prefer no noise. Definitely need it to light up, though. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Dollar tree sells glow stick swords for $1 (duh) each. I haven't been in there since Halloween but they had them then. The light up light sabers are usually around $20, I don't think you can find them for less than $10.
ETA: Here is what we had: http://coolglow.com///68/Supreme-Glow-Wands-and-Swords/13050/Glow-Sword---Assorted/
Also I found these they might work for you: http://www.windycitynovelties.com/295c/led-swords.html?s_kwcid=TC-8923-4889869188-e-434225606

We made them for our parties-- 1/2 a pool noodle and some silver duct tape (with black electrical tape "accents") Hours of crazy battles and no one gets hurt!!!!
Eta: oops. Didn't see light up. In that case, try the White Lightening sticks: http://www.amazon.com/Colour-Changing-Lights-Stick-Lightning/dp/B002PIBQY4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1322538129&sr=8-1
LOVE these.

If you feel like making some I think that these from the Filth Wizardry blog would be easy and a lot of fun: http://www.filthwizardry.com/2010/01/balloon-and-torch-lightsabres.html

My SIL brought back mini-ones (they're maybe 12 inches long?) from the M&M's store in Las Vegas for our boys. They light up. Maybe check there?

I think I've seen Energizer versions of these at Home Depot...maybe about 8 inches long. They are supposed to be a flashlight I think. I recall they were about $5. Not sure if it was a Halloween seasonal type of thing or not.

A few months ago at Target I found these http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Inflatable-Light-Up-Light/dp/B000S1243W in the birthday party section. I believe they were $2.99. They have held up well and do light up. I don't know if they still have them, but I think they were Hallmark brand.
