Help! I have 6 month apt. today and conflicted about getting flu shot. Is it safe and really necessary at this age? Thanks! Anyone have good/bad experience?

both my kids got the flu shot at 6 mos old (and DD was a 35 week preemie). no problems at all, would do it again.

DD got flu shot at 6 months and was fine. The next couple of months are peak flu season.

Of all the diseases we vaccinate for, flu is far and away the one your baby is most likely to be exposed to. It's also one of the best tolerated vaccines we have. Flu is nasty in young babies with a high rate of secondary bacterial infections (ear infections/pneumonia), hospitalization, and even death.
My kids get flu vaccine every year. I consider it one of the most important vaccines I give them.
