I've been looking online and it seems that most say that kids flying on a flight within US do not require any form of ID. My kids are 8 and 5. They will be flying with both DH and I. It's a short flight to Florida. We have passports for the kids but I would prefer not to bring it if I don't need it. I would hate to lose it. So I was wondering for those of you that flew domestically, did you bring any form of ID for the kids?

Thanks,

No, nothing is needed on domestic flights. Have fun!
In case you don't want to just take my word for it ;

We were told by TSA at PHL and PHX that kids don't need ID until they're 18.

We brought a copy of DD's birth certificate with us just in case we hit any snags; we didn't.

We'll be flying out of EWR in a few weeks and don't expect snags there, either.

Flew with DS (with his own seat) in October from Atlanta to Houston and did not bring any ID. No problems. No one looked at us twice.

No ID required. Although I did get a Texas ID for DS (can get an ID at the Dept. of Motor Vehicles - drivers license looking but it says Identification Card).

There is some good info and videos on the TSA website if you want to help prepare your kids for screening

Thanks everyone!! We've traveled internationally and always brought our passports but I really don't want to bring it if we don't need to. I would hate to lose it.
