The room parent is collecting money for a joint Christmas cash gift for the teacher and her assistant. What is a reasonable amount to give?

When I was room parent we would suggest 10-20. 2/3 of the parents would give the 20, 2-3 would do the 10, and there were always 2-3 who gave nothing. Perhaps they were doing individual gifts but I don't think that was the case in these situations.

If I was giving to a group gift, I think I'd give $15 to $20.

I'm not the "room parent" but I coordinated the gifts for the two one-year-old class teachers and I asked for a total between $10-$20. Some people have given $10, some $15, others $20.

Heres my situation. Group gift for all of the centers teachers. Will be split evenly. How much?

I think I did $10 per teacher last year. This year I am doing $5 for each, which is what the room moms suggested and there are 30 kids in the class too and that adds up. I honestly love not having to run around with my head cut off looking for original gifts.

I actually really like giving movie tickets which is what I will give to the after school daycare director, and the assistant.

I would ask the organizer what $$ amount is suggested. We give $25 per teacher.

Full day daycare I did $25 and part-day program in the past I have done $15-20.

However, this year DS has six teachers as he is enrolled in two programs. I bought each one of those cute little etsy autosneeze things that attach to your car visor for $10 each. I hope that isn't too cheap and they aren't rolling their eyes at the thought of me every time they sneeze!

We shell out I kid you not well over two thousand dollars each christmas for nanny/housekeeper bonuses, dh's mandatory cash "gift" to the staff at his hospital, teacher gifts etc. This is before family gifts and it is the reason we literally spend $200-300 on family gifts and call it a day. Sorry for the vent OP!!
