Another what goes with this question.

I'm wearing grey cords with a mauve shirt. Does a black jacket work or should I ditch the mauve and put on a black or grey shirt and black jacket? Or denim with the mauve and grey? TIA

It's hard to know without a picture because everyone has a different interpretation of what "mauve" is. I think grey and light purple/all purples works well, and black against it would look nice. But if your mauve is more tan-ish, I wouldn't pair with black.

I think it would easily work well together... pretty much regardless of your top's color.
