My mom goes sometimes. I know that everyone in her group is in the 60+ age group, I don't think we have many here that fall into that age bracket.

I thought it was for the post menopausal crowd?

My Mom is a member. They are like ladies who lunch kind of thing. They have regular activities, where they go to lunch and then do some sort of activity (shopping, visiting a vineyard etc.). She seems to enjoy it. But I think she had to be invited to join, sort of like a mature woman sorority.

I know there is a group of Red Hatters who meet at our country club. I think it's women aged 50 and up, but younger women are invited as "Pink Hats"

My grandma joined after my gp passed away, she's 87, and I gather that most of the women in her group are her peers...

I won a membership at a raffle. I was wondering if I should join. I told them I was not 50, which is the age they start at. They told me to join as a "Pinky". Not sure how I felt about that. :irked:

i think some are more formal groups, with officers and agendas and committees...and some just get together every once in a while to gossip & drink. see what kind of group it is & if you might enjoy it.

If it is a loosely organized group without dues and attendance requirements, I would check it out (I'm probably closer to 50 than you are though). I don't care for the "pinky" title though... wasn't that a character on Laverne and Shirley?

eta: naw, that was Squiggy, thank you wiki.

My mom was part of one for a while. I don't think I'd want any part of it, to be honest, if you're not of that age.

'pinky' was on 'happy days' - 'pinky tuscadero'.

Older ladies who lunch is my impression. I'd pass off the membership to someone that more fits that description. :)

And an image of her just popped into my mind like that, yet I can't remember what I ate for lunch yesterday. Thanks.

This is just another perspective, and of course it varies. But the senior ladies in my church ROCK. They are made of rubber, or something. Some of them are freakin' hilarious, and they have tons of energy.
