I'm thinking of getting DDs (6 and 8) tix to Beauty and the Beast for Christmas. Problem is, even though the tix are available, the show isn't until May.

Is this too far out to wait? I don't want them to feel gypped on Christmas (obviously they're getting other stuff too, but these tix would be $$$), and it's not really something, but something for 5mos from now.

I saw this show probably 10 years ago and was blown away, and I think they would love it. (I still remember being in a packed NYC theatre, and the Beast died, and one little tiny kid voice cried out, "NO!" Honestly, it still makes me tear up when I think about it.)

I wouldn't give it as a Christmas gift at those ages. I would still get tix and go, though! just surprise them in may!

Can you tie them to something - a doll or toy they can play with now but related to the show?

I think May is too long to wait for a Christmas gift.

I have to disagree with this!! The show was AMAZING and not a little-kiddie show. Definitely Broadway!!

Yah... I'll probably do as Megs said and get the tix anyway!

:yeahthat: I think it'd be too long of a wait even for an adult.

I think your kiddies are at the perfect ages for beauty and the beast (I honestly would not take them if they were younger), but I agree that 5 months would seem like an eternity. I would get the tickets but not present them as a Christmas gift. Maybe an Easter gift?
