Explain Amazon Cloud to Me

I bought myself an android tablet on Black Friday and I'm a little overwhelmed with everything that I can do, particularly all things music. I'm a bit embarassed to admit that I've never even downloaded a song before...anywhere.

So I was looking at something on Amazon and saw Amazon Cloud. What exactly is it and is there a free version or do you have to pay the $20 a year? Is it a good, bad or otherwise type of music program?

I'm so technologically challenged!

I'll take a stab. It's online storage, geared mostly toward music files, but you can store anything there, much like dropbox, apple's version, etc. For example, I purchased a digital CD the other day and Amazon pretty much automatically told me it was storing it in the cloud (but I also was able to download it to my machine) I think it's only $20 if you to store music files you don't buy at amazon, i.e. if you wanted to upload your whole music library to it. But you get free storage of music files you buy at amazon.
