If space was not a consideration, which of these play sets would you select and why?

Thank you!

#2 - more room to imagine different scenarios.

#2. It looks like it is more adaptable.

Thanks! I like number 2 better also, but I had a friend comment that number one seemed more "masculine." She said that number 2 looked more like a "dollhouse." This doesn't bother me at all, but I wanted to get more opinions. I do like some of the accessories better on number 1, but DS won't care at all. Thank you for responding (and if anyone else has comments, I would love to hear them.)

I've seen #2 in the store. It looks quite masculine. Couldn't really get more masculine, IMO.

We have something similar (also a kidkraft fire/police station) from Costco, which DS got for Christmas last year. It's very nice. I also prefer #2 of your options (masculinity doesn't matter to me, and I would never characterize either of those two options as either masculine or feminine for that matter). Regardless, I don't think you could go wrong.

It looks like a dollhouse because it is a dollhouse (for firemen) and that is a-ok.

I would go with #2- Costco has a great return policy if if is not a hit, it seems less busy than the first one and I like the size better.

Thank you all--this settles it for me. Hopefully, it will go on sale soon. I might wait to buy it until his birthday in February. I really appreciate all the input.

I looked at something similar when DS1 was about that age, and I really regret not buying it. I think either one has a lot of potential to be a favorite for several years.

PS -- if you're not a Costco member, the non-member fee is $4.50 for this item. Not bad!

Oh NO! I moved to slow. They are sold out at Costco online.

Oh, I feel so bad! I wonder if my MIL got the last one, because she said she went to look at the picture again after ordering and it was sold out. I'm sorry!!! :(

Don't feel bad! I was dragging my feet. Hopefully, they will get more in stock, if not they are available at other online vendors for about $20+ more. The good thing is I was considering this as a birthday gift (DS born in February) and not a Christmas gift.
