Quality Work Socks, pls?!

Can you PLEASE recommend good quality work socks for my husband? He works in HVAC, so he is outdoors in all weather and is indoors in people's houses w/o shoes (because he doesn't want to dirty their floors, tracking mud in and out...). He's bought a few brands, but they never last! After a few wears and washes they get holes in them. On average they last a few months before we need to recycle them to rags...
Is this normal? If it's not- please tell me what brand to buy!!

A couple of questions: Does good socks automatically mean really expensive?!:o And my husband is wary of wool socks because he is afraid they'll make his feet sweat more than they already do- in the summer. And as an aside, he doesn't need work boot socks because he actually wears sneakers... I've asked him a few times why not boots, but he says sneakers are more comfortable and he hasn't found boots that fit his feet and that he likes in his price range...

Most of the better socks will be in the $10-$20/pair range. I thought the same about wool socks, and I was surprised. Wool socks actually do a good job of wicking away moisture.

I have not tried their socks but I love their jeans and gloves. DH loves their jeans & pants. They design their clothes with hard work in mind so...
