Mods--I put this in the lounge for the quick answers I'm hoping for so that I can get my Amazon order put in this evening! Thanks!

DD is nearly 8yo. She's completely accident prone (as am I). Because she's not the most graceful child in the world, I have always said "no" to flip flops. But they are on her Santa list, and she's almost 8, so I think it's time that I just let this one go, and get her the darn flip flops she's been begging for.

However, she has flat feet, and needs to have a supportive shoe.

Anyone have any clue where I can find a flip-flop with a supportive sole?? I'm completely fine with a flip flop with a strap on the back, as it would seem less likely to make her trip. However, she's a size 13 in shoes now, so I'm not sure they make any with straps in her size. Bonus points if they are on Amazon, as I've got some other things to buy from there as well.

Crocs. DD1 has the Athens with the back strap and loves them, DD1 wears an 11 I think so I know they make them in smaller sizes. I can walk all day in my adult size Athens. I think the Athens style might be exclusive to the Crocs stores now because I haven't seen them anywhere else in a long time.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Keen Waimea's in Rice Paper!! I actually wearing these in slushy snow and my feet are STILL comfy "warm" (neoprene like lining) and the traction is fantastic! I have this style in another fabric as well...VERY supportive. Did a search and discovered that Keen makes this style for youth as well!! Obviously haven't tried them but am definitely buying a pair for my kids for the summer!

HTH!! I am happy-dancing over here in the Great White North!

ETA: It's on AMazon with free supersaver shipping! Much cheaper than the above Keen site. :) Crocus pink and other colors, back strap for up to 13, no strap for 1 and up, and gotta love the toe protection, especially for your clumsy girlie! :) Good luck!!

Chacos. They have the best support of any non-orthotic sandal out there according to my podiatrist. They have a lot of options with straps in the back too.

They're not really flip flops though, I guess. They don't have the thing in between the toe. They do have cool kid designs though and my 13yo DD has loved them for years now.
