DH are finally going to upgrade the 15 yo TV in out bedroom and we want to hang a flat screen on the wall. I was wondering what to do with the DVD and cable box when the screen is on the wall. We will be getting rid of the piece of furniture that is holding our current TV and components. Thanks for the advice.

It depends on your room, but I would look for a console or 'buffet' type piece to put under the TV for the components.

Something like these:

We have the Omnimount wall shelves that hold our Dish receiver and DHs PS3.

This link is just for the one shelf but if you search for omnimount or tv component shelves you will find several different kinds. We didn't have space for furniture under the tv so we had to get shelves. I looked at several B&M stores and the wall shelving was really expensive. These mounts are reasonably priced and easy to install. They include cord covers so nothing shows.
