Seriously, I think I've bought 2 things. That's good for my wallet, but very bad for my empty gift closet. Do you think there will be any fantastic deals or are those days long gone? :crying:

According to my order history the big deal days were around December 13th-16th last year so I'm still hoping for some great deals, but I agree it seems like there haven't been as many stellar deals this year.

Amazon has a history of hooking customers with great deals to get you in the habit, then withdrawing the great deals (while still offering reasonable bargains). For example: tons of free Prime memberships which lead to people paying for Prime. 30% off diapers is now 20% off diapers.

I would not be surprised if they aren't the best toy merchant this year. In past years Amazon has been a great source for discounts on newish video games, this year Best Buy has consistently had much better deals.

Me too! I keep hoping and checking but I'm really not seeing anything to wow me. :)

I think it peaked in 2007...

I missed 2007 because DD wasn't around yet. I think even last year I got enough things to take some of the sting out of birthday parties :).

I have been checking constantly!! Very depressing nothing good yet. I also did most of my shopping after Dec 11 the last couple of years.

Keeping my fingers crossed. I know Amazon likes to wait until the last minute for the rock-bottom deals, but they haven't offered squat yet. Usually I'm done shopping by now and just adding on during the last week because I can't pass up on the savings. This Nov/Dec - thus far I've only bought 2 things from Amazon and the prices were just "okay."

I was just looking at my orders from Dec. 2010 and I only placed about 4. One was tag books, another was sticky mosaics. Nothing really big.....like 2009.

I'm not expecting much.

Bummer. But good for the wallet like someone said.

Me, too. I keep watching and hoping for a few small items to keep in the gift closet, but nothing has caught my eye. We really got spoiled in 2007-2009. We still have the Rose Petal Cottage that we snagged for $19.99.

I wonder if they will wait until the items aren't likely to arrive for Christmas with FSSS, then use that to entice people to pay for a Prime membership?

I must've gotten my first good deal on November 30 last year, because that's the day I activated my trial through Amazon Mom. Last year was my first time around with the Amazon deals, I can't believe they were even better a few years ago!

I was going to post about this too. I have nothing for my DDs. Ecomom hasn't sent any toys yet *still keeping my fingers crossed* and I have bought nothing from Amazon. Yikes!

I am waiting for the deals, too! I do think they had one awesome deal a couple of weeks ago--the Thinkfun games were $5 off if you bought two and many were already discounted 60%. I placed 4 orders for 8 games, but that deal didn't last long.

Target also had an awesome toy sale in 2009. They had tons of highly sought after toys for 50% off. It doesn't seem like any retailer has done anything comparable yet, but I keep hearing on the news about how retailers are heavily discounting items this year.

I'm really hoping EcoMom ships because it's MY Christmas present...a Skip Hop Versa!

I'm still waiting too! So far my best deals have been the 3 Fisher Price Kid Tough Classic Doodlers I got for $7.49 each and a few M & D puzzles for $7.xx as well. Thank goodness DS2 is obsessed with puzzles right now since he's getting a ton of them for Christmas!

Michaels has all their M&D puzzles 40% off right now so I was able to get another 24 piece jigsaw puzzle for $7.xx this morning.

I have cut back on shopping and am more or less only buying a few books and games for the kids for Christmas. Even so, I just checked my order history and somehow have placed TWELVE orders in the last 30 days.

1. Coffee (same price as Folgers or Maxwell house at any local store/better coffee) $9 for 36 ounces
2-3. Two different sets of books for a pre-teen relative for Christmas $32
Percy Jackson pbk 5-book boxed set (Percy Jackson and the Olympians)
Shadow Children Boxed Set
4. A cheesy 70's series on DVD for DH ($5)
5. Ravensburger Rivers, Roads And Rails - Children's Game$8
6. The Best of Charades for Kids $7
7. Fish Ammoxicillin because I am too cheap to go to the doctor. :ROTFLMAO: $17. This purchase alone saved me well over $100!
8.Learning Resources Money Bags A Coin Value Game $14.81
9. Sequence Letters $9.08
10. Sum Swamp Addition and Subtraction Game $12.73
11. Progressive International Microwavable Four Egg Poacher $6.29
12. Avigal Henna huge industrial size that will last a year 17.6 oz $30.46 with shipping

I WISH I had problems not finding anything I want or need or on sale at Amazon!

there are some great deals, just have to dig for them. 4 pack of kachooz are $5 which is about 1/2 price.

I just checked my recent orders too. Gasp! 21 orders in 30 days on my account, and 3 more with DH's free trial month of Prime. That includes detergent, diapers and several things for DH's work, and I'm returning a couple things - but still...apparently I'm shopping way more than I think I am...:bag
