Two DS questions...

I have a 4 year old and 7 year old and am definitely giving the 7 year old a DS for Christmas. My two questions are:

1. I have a Leappad for the 4 year old but am reconsidering and thinking maybe I should just give him a DS as well since his older brother will have it. Has anyone done differently or do you just do the same for both kiddos?

2. If you have two kids with a DS do you ever buy two of the same game or do they just know they must share and cannot play the same game at the same time?

I would wait on the DS until the child is old enough to read, my girls loved their leapsters at age 4. My girls have duplicate games but only ones I have gotten for really cheap on clearance at Target.
