They can do hot and cold beverages and can be combined with a lid to make a great travel mug. They come in a ton of different sizes and you can pick different sayings, pictures, phrases to make them personal.
My friend and MIL are getting one with a tin of yummy hot chocolate.

They also don't sweat if you live in a humid place like we do in FL.

Are these BPA free? (can't believe I'm thinking about buying something plastic...)

From their website:

Are Tervis tumblers BPA-free?
We are committed to delivering the highest quality, most durable, and safest tumblers in the world. To that end we subject our tumblers to extensive testing by independent testing facilities to ensure that our product exceeds the strictest safety requirements of the FDA. In 2009, we began the process of converting our tumblers to Eastman Tritan™ - a new generation polymer. This conversion enables us to eliminate a step in the manufacturing process of Tervis tumblers while upholding our quality standards. Furthermore, Eastman Tritan™ contains no Bisphenol A. As of January, 2011, we have completed the transition of our entire line of Tervis tumblers to Eastman Tritan™. We will continue to search for new ways to enhance our offering and will strive to maintain our level of excellence.

Our last day of school is tomorrow, so this definitely won't work for teacher gifts. Will they be in by Christmas?

Your total after the $10 off code has to still be over $25.

The website is super slow right now, but these will be perfect for our white elephant gift. I hope to get some of the santa/flamingo ones :)

Thanks for the heads up Jo!

eta: ended up ordering the following:
Flamingo Wish You Were Here 4 piece tumbler set
3 green wrap Christmas travel tumblers
3 red wrap Christmas travel tumbers
1 Santa travel tumbler
1 flamingo travel tumbler
total, $41.60 (after the 20% off $50, and free shipping!)

The Flamingo 4 piece set will be one our of White Elephant gifts with some iced tea drink mix, the Santa, and Flamingo tumblers will be their own gift with probably a $5 Starbucks gift card and a packet of cocoa, 2 of the other tumblers will be for our secret Santa family with some cocoa and tea, one will be for DD1, and then the remaining two travel tumblers will be for the daycare assistants with a Target or Wal Mart gift card.

Do any of the lids make these spill proof as in can be brought to school without leaking?
