I'm craving tea but don't know which ingredients are okay or no-nos during pregnancy. With my first I just didn't drink much because I wasn't sure about any of the ingredients but I'm really craving it this time around. I know to avoid/minimize caffeine but am not sure what to look at beyond that.

I found this post but don't know how accurate it is:

Thanks!!

I'd say she's right on the money. The "probably not" herbs listed, I might say "OK in moderation" for most of them. I'd be cautious about stuff like fenugreek, for example, and I cut out licorice root & chicory for sure.

I even drank regular black tea while pregnant, only switching to decaf after 21 weeks, which was when my DD's heart defect was diagnosed.

Raspberry leaf is an excellent ingredient for pregnant mothers' utereruses. I drank black tea (my fave) once a day in the third trimester. I wouldn't let the tea bag steep very long to avoid the caffeine. I also drank a lot of "pregnancy tea" by the same brand as "Mother's Milk tea."
