I am having a big brain f@rt.....

What the the little thin european cookies called that hae a crepe-like batter (but sweeter) and you cook them in a little iron so they are thin and have a pretty design?

I think they are Swedish or German? Definitely traditional for Christmas...

TIA!

Pizzelles.

:yeahthat: Pizzelles are Italian, but there are similar cookies from other European regions. I have a few more on my counter, calling my name. :)

Mom used to make those. Delicious, but oh so tedious.

Thanks everybody! I was actually thinking of pizelles, but I think I got confused about the country due to mom (German heritage) my having molds and making springerles.

It was fun to see all the different little European cookies, and how similar they are in many ways. It seems like most are traditional for Christmas.

I may make a go at pizelles (DH is Italian heritage), but I have had the Dutch stroopwafel before from a neighbor where I grew up. So yummy... I had forgotten about those!
