A friends almost 8 year old daughter has on her wish list a a kid's cookbook. I'd like to get her one, but there are so many out there. Please recommend yours. Thanks!

We got a Paula Deen cookbook for kids recently. Seems to be pretty good.

I've been happy with the Williams Sonoma ones. I have the kids baking ones and bought the Fun Food one recently but haven't used it:

I think their instructions are easy to follow and nice pictures.

My dd loves the Mollie Katzen (of Moosewood cookbook fame) series. She has the two for preschoolers (Pretend Soup and Salad People), but there's also one for kids 8 and up.

We loved Pretend Soup, but I don't have any recommendations for an 8 year old. Will have to check out the Molly Katzen one recommended up thread.
