do these run small, or true to size?

They run big! They're wide to begin with, but they're definitely a half to a whole size big. Ds is wearing size 2 or 3 in everything else, and still in size 1 in Tsukihoshis. Great shoes: wide, flexible, machine washable, lightweight. The only downside is that they're not as durable as, say, Keens, but they usually wear out about the time that ds outgrows them anyway.

Edited to add: we're retiring the size 1s as soon as his new size 2s come in. just so you don't think you should order 2 sizes down. :)
