Any recommendations for a cute, comfy, stylish sneaker? Not for exercising per se, but for chasing the kids around.

Converse. The simple brand looks cute too.

For a "classic" look, I like Converse, but I like Jack Purcell's, most people seem to like All-Stars. These are Jack's in leather:

For a more modern look, I have a pair of black Pumas that are cool and comfy. They're similar to these, but not the same:

I love my white Jack Purcells and I've also gotten some cute madras canvas sneakers from JCrew but I always love these Boden Plimsolls, they're onsale from $39-$42. I *love* the Navy patent!
I also have fun dalmation print ones and some lime green..

I do like Converse... I don't actually own any. Just some old Airwalk knock-offs that are in dire need of replacement. OK, Converse (and Jack Purcells) are on the list. Any others that are more sneaker-ish? Hip? Am I making myself sound even less fashionable by using the word hip? :rotflmao:

:yeahthat:

All my casual shoes are Clarks, some Privo. They are cute, comfortable and last forever. I put a lot of miles on these shoes! I used to scoff at spending over $50 on a pair of casual around the house shoes, but when they last more than one year, they are worth it!

OK, looking at that, here are some I might like:

I'm thinking I might want a color. I wear a lot of neutrals and I am getting tired of the gray/black/navy.

Still love the purple Pumas. :) May be ordering those soon!

Also these Skechers are fun: http://www.skechers.com/style/13510/skechers-gowalk/nvy#ReviewHeader
But less versatile I am thinking; more of a summer shoe.

I do like these Simples: http://www.zappos.com/simple-satire-hemp-black-hemp

The purple pumas are very cute! I get my "fashion sneakers" in purple, because it is fun and goes with a lot of different outfits.

These are the same Pumas as the purple ones, just $20 cheaper. It will be hard to pay the extra $20 just to get purple. Hmmm...

Also, if I decide to get Converse instead, do I get them in my normal shoe size? Or size up or down?

For those who love Simple shoes, better snatch them up now b/c the company is ceasing production (that's why they're all on sale.) I have a few pairs too and love them.

OK, I love these: http://www.amazon.com/Simple-Elastic-Fashion-Sneaker-Charcoal/dp/B0037HPSRI/ref=sr_1_1?s=shoes&ie=UTF8&qid=1325268375&sr=1-1

Some reviews say order 1/2 size up, some don't... any thoughts?

I have a pair of Donald Pliner sneakers that I bought while in residency (so probably 8 years ago??) that are still in fantastic shape and are probably my most complimented shoe. Mine were white leather with black and pink trim, but these cloth ones look cute too.

Does anyone have the purple pumas, or a different color but in that style? I was wondering how the sizing runs and if there is arch support.

I wear 7 to 8 in shoes, depending on the style, and my Converse pair is a 7.

I wouldn't pay the extra, but that's me. The gray would go much better with the neutral colors in my wardrobe. A pop of color can be fun, though. :-)

I have these Jack Purcells:
http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/converse-jack-purcell-slip-on-sneaker-women/3076311?origin=category&resultback=3954

They are great! There is zero support, though. I usually wear a 7.5 in heels, and an 8 in flats. I ordered the 8 and they fit perfectly.

Do Simples run TTS?

Seems like a PP said they didn't, but I have several pairs and I think they do. I have an average foot and wear an 8. The tennis shoes and boots (and flip flops I ordered yesterday!) are 8s. The flats, however, I did exchange for a 7.5 b/c the 8s slipped off. The 7.5s were tight and took a while to stretch but I like them now. I'm debating several more pairs, and a pair for DD...
