We were going to hold off on getting a play kitchen until next year, but SIL offered to get DD one for her first birthday in January. I'm thinking all the good deals were before Christmas, right? Are there usually deals on these after Christmas?

She asked us which kitchen we wanted, and I'm thinking either Kidkraft or Step 2. But which model? There are so many. I also like the Ikea one but it looks a bit small.

I was looking at these but undecided:
http://www.amazon.com/KidKraft-53173-Red-Retro-Kitchen/dp/B0030HBVG2/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1325088861&sr=8-7

http://www.amazon.com/Step2-LifeStyle-New-Traditions-Kitchen/dp/B001T1ARCU/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1325088809&sr=8-13

I like the Step 2 kitchens because they look more realistic but the Kidkraft ones seem to have more storage for play food. I would also like the oven to be a good size to fit accessories (such as the baking sheet from the M&D cookie set).

Any deal alerts or model recommendations are more than welcome!

I really didn't look to closely because we already have a kitchen but I saw a Step 2 kitchen on clearance at Target. I don't know the model or the price sorry. But if your out and about you might want to take a look.

I also saw a Circo wooden kitchen set on clearance at Target today (they had a bunch in several rows of clearance toys actually). I think it was either $40-ish or $60-ish? They had a large Disney Princess one on clearance too, I think that was more like $70. I didn't look too closely because we already have a small kitchen set.

We got this one:
http://www.amazon.com/KidKraft-53181-Large-Kitchen/dp/B0017JBR6O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1325101052&sr=8-1

for our daughter for Christmas this year and it is really cute! It is taller than some of the other KidKraft ones so it will be something she will be able to play with for a long time. There is a lot of storage space for play food etc.

I would definitely recommend Kidkraft. Very durable and I LOVE that! I also prefer wood to plastic though.

Our store had the Circo kitchen for $60. It was in a girly doll aisle away from the official clearance section.

Another idea too, look on Craigs List. We found a new PBK stove/sink for $80. Granted, it was the classic kitchen, their previous model, but it was new in box...the sellers ended up getting the retro later that year before Christmas and they couldn't return it.

I read that PBK has discounted their kitchens in store after the new year...seems to be around Jan 4th. They are still around $150-200 though. They are good quality.

Bed Bath and Beyond had wooden kitchens on clearance in store. I didn't look close enough to catch details or price, but they were on clearance.
