Can you hang grommet-top silk drapes in a dining room? I'm considering silk drapes from pottery barn and they come in various kinds of tops. I'm thinking grommet because they are easy to apart and I don't have to worry about hanging the tie-back hooks to keep them pulled back.

It depends on the style of your dining room! If you have a less formal room or contemporary room, yes - sure! The more formal you go, (dark woods, antiques, etc) then I would go with something more traditional.
