Betty Crocker Whipped Chocolate Frosting....sealed, never used. expired July 2011. Use or toss?
I am thinking of baking a cake tonight and using this. DH says to throw it out and skip frosting, who needs it. (my answer was : me, I NEED chocolate :))

So, so preserved that it has to be fine, imo. :)
eta- if you have butter, milk, cocoa powder and powdered sugar then this Hersey's frosting recipe is so darned easy:

thanks for the replies!
snugglebuggles - that recipe looks good too...though i think we have just enough sticks of butter to make the cake. will have to remember that though..i love frosting made from scratch, as the pre-made kind (esp vanilla and other flavors) is usually too sugary for me!

i would just make, but if i had one that old lying around, id probably use it bc id feel guilty. and i know the stuff lasts.

Meh, I'd use it, not think twice about it... and probably lick the spoon and frosting knife when I finished! :rotflmao:

Use it .... I've used frosting a few months older than that, and it didn't seem quite the same, but worked just fine and no one had any problems with it!
