...with kids. We'll be there for a day in January and will have a 3.5 year old and 9 month old. What are some fun things to do? We've never been there. Thanks!

There's a little beach. A small boardwalk to walk along. Plenty of restaurants and ice cream places, but it's a little expensive for what you get. There's a trip to the back side of the island to see things. A glass bottom boat for the harbour.

We used to scuba dive off Casino point - old Casino that's now a movie theatre I think. We would get the ferry across, dive all day, eat something and then ferry back. We've gone once with DS. MIL came with and she would do the beach, look in the shops with DS while we were underwater.

Lots of families do go over for a day trip or a weekend.

I've only been there before kids. It would be a good idea to find out if you (if you've never been) or your kids have motion sickness before you go. That ferry ride kills me every single time. If at all possible I end up sitting on the top deck, though I don't know if you'd want to do that with little ones.

We went there once in the summer with a 5 month about 9 years ago. We carried her in a Baby Bjorn and used a stroller. We walked around the beach, went on a tourist submarine ride, and had a drink on the beach. We didn't swim, which is strange since I love swimming, so I wonder if there was something that made swimming hard. We had a great time, even though I can't remember much about what we did.

The ferry was a big catamaran, as I recall, and I don't recall any movement or sense that seasickness was an issue for us or other passengers. Maybe we were lucky? We moved around the upper and lower levels of the ship.

Thanks. We won't be going on the ferry. We're actually stopping there as part of our cruise out of Long Beach.
