All of the boot threads have me lusting over new winter boots but I'm cautious of buying new shoes while pregnant. My shoe size stayed the same with my first but I'd hate to only get a few months wear out of $$ new boots.

Did your shoe size change permanently after pregnancy? Poll coming.

I gained half a size with each pregnancy. I went from an 8 to a 9, although I can sometimes fit into an 8 1/2 if it is wide. :/ I miss all my cute pre baby shoes!

Mine didn't but I know several people whose feet did grow. So I wouldn't say "buy those boots!" but mine didn't change.

I voted other.... I THINK my feet grew after my first pregnancy, but I was pregnant again at 6 wks post partum, so it is all a blur. However, pre-baby, I was a 7 1/2 and now I am 8 1/2 wide.

Unfortunately mine grew both times  and since I had a large foot to begin with so it was terrible...I went from a 9 to a 10 with DD1 and a 10 to 11 with DD2. :eek:I know it shouldn't be a big deal but having to replace an entire shoe collection twice stinks. I can't even think what could happen if we had a third child!! It doesn't happen to everyone though so maybe you're one of the lucky ones!

Mine did not change with DS and haven't so far with this pregnancy, but I won't invest $$$ in nice shoes until after I'm done with this one (and then we are DONE). If I planned on going several years between kids, then I would buy right after one to maximize wearable time.

I used to be between a 7 1/2 and an 8 and my first pregnancy pushed me squarely into a size 8. My feet didn't grow from a second pregnancy.

I had always been between 8.5-9. After DD and DS , I was mostly 9 but did not really replace anything.

Since the twins, I am up to 9.5. And, I'm only 5'2"

Gosh, I never thought about it, but this could probably explain things!!

BTW, my clothing size has definitely changed as well! I did notice that one.

Thanks for all of the responses! It sounds like I was lucky to stay the same size the first time and should save the cash for new shoes next winter. Must.stop.reading.boot.threads.

No change last time. Really hoping for no change this time!

Yes, and annoyingly so. I used to be a perfect 7.5 in length and width.

Now I'm just slightly larger than a 7.5 in length and width. Often not enough to buy size 8 shoes, but enough that size 7.5 is too small, and size 7.5W is too wide. ARGH. So shoe shopping for me HAS to be in-person and it comes down to whether a particular style works with my foot. I hate it.

Yes, I went from a 7 to an 8! My feet are also wider through the ball of the foot. I always had fairly small feet for my height (5'6") and have VERY high arches (still do). I think the extra weight plus the relaxin hormone made my feet stretch out!

I had to get rid of all my pre-pregnancy shoes. It was sad. There didn't seem to be any further changes with my 2nd pregnancy.

I was a pretty solid 8.5 before I had DS. Now I'm an 8.5/9 depending on the shoe. So far, I haven't gotten any bigger with DS2

I was always a size 9 but went up to 9.5 after my first pregnancy and 10 after my second. Good thing I'm done having kids or my feet would be entering clown feet stage (no offense to my fellow large-footed gals - my friends and I always joke about our huge feet!) :)

Went from a 7.5 to 8.5 in first pregnancy. No changes from subsequent three pregnancies.

Went up a 1/2 size each time. Ended up being very expensive. Proceed with caution!

It's funny, my feet went up half a size and stayed that way for a good 3+ years after my last was born.

I figured they just went up for good but now all my shoes that are 9's are too big and I'm back to measuring an 8 1/2!

Weird, but it's close enough that unless it's a super high heel (heel slippage) I'm ok still wearing all the 9's I purchased.

I thought so. I had all my children so close and believed my size went up 1/2 size but a year after the last pregnancy, when I lost the weight, they went back down. I ended up with a ton of shoes that were too big :(

My answer is other because it is YES with each pregnancy!! More so with the first.

I wear a 9/1/2 or a 10 wide depending on the shoe so I was very happy that my feet didn't grow during pregnancy.

I'm a size 9 and never changed, thank goodness. I wouldn't have thought twice about buying shoes during pregnancy, I say buy!

Didn't change. Bra size never changed with either Pregnancy and always returned back to normal once breast feeding was established. I think I got lucky!!

Me too. Both my feet and breasts are the same size. Too bad my belly didn't get the memo.

I went up half a size with my first pregnancy. I'm hoping my feet will stay the same this time around, I just got a killer pair of shoes for Xmas!
