The Octonauts

I am not a cartoon lover. In the last five years, I can count the number of cartoons I actually tolerate on one hand and the ones I actually enjoy on two fingers (Kipper, Charlie and Lola). We recently started watching The Octonauts on Disney Junior and it is awesome. It has provides great information about marine life, the characters all have international accents instead of annoying voices, only one cutesy song (the ending bit), and the animation is awesome.
I'm sad that now that we've found something we can all agree on, DD will probably age out of it pretty quickly. Season 2 is in production. Set your DVRs.

We've bought a couple (the one you linked included) since we started watching the show which is based on the books. Did I mention we are obsessed?

My 5yo LOOOOOOOOVES the Octonauts. So don't count them out too quickly. ;)

DD just discovered the Octonauts and LOVES the show! I think it has become one of her favorites- we watched the beluga whale episode this morning :)

My almost 6 year old and almost 2 year old are watching it right now! My almost 6 year old LOVES LOVES LOVES that show. My 2 year old's favorite show is still Mickey Mouse clubhouse, but she asks for Octonauts occasionally. We DVR them so we always have one to watch.

More Octonaut fans here. I think it's very clever. But I like animation if it's well done. An aside, I like Kipper, but I don't think Kipper's voice is quite right. It sounds too middle-aged. But it's very charming.

3.5 yo DD is obsessed - I mean seriously obsessed - with Octonauts! Glad we're not the only ones. And I think it's good, too (but I swear I am singing "creature report, creature report" all.day.long.). I keep meaning to check out the books too.
