Poll coming, if I can figure it out.
I'm kind of obsessed with proper pronunciation, and I've always said "Double-you". Starfall's app says "Dub-a-you", I believe. I twitch a little when I hear it. So which is correct?

If a "W" doesn't look like "two letter U's" then I have no idea where it got it's name....so I voted "double you".

So this made me laugh hysterically! I voted double you because if I say it correctly that is how I say it. But in reality I am not going to lie.... when we sing the abc's it totally comes out "dub-ya" Gotta love growing up southern!

I just saw something promoting the pronunciation "wee" today. Funny timing. I say double-you.

I say double you, but I just sang the abcs (twice) and it sounds like dub-a-you if I am singing fast.

Huh??????????????? "Wee" for "W" instead of Double-You?

I voted Double-You, but I always hear it in my head as my Polish grandmother saying "Double-Vay" for double-vee.

'double-you' in the abc song, 'dubya' in general.

It would make more sense in context with the other letters--all other letters are one syllable with a name similar to their sound. But I think the name "double you" is pretty entrenched right now and not likely to be changed.
FTR, I say "double you".

double you, unless I'm making a reference to George W. Bush, and then it's just "dub-ya."

Except that after years of making fun of Bush (I know, I know), now I ALWAYS say "dub-ya" unless I really think about it and make a point not to. So I guess the joke's kind of on me.

I would have sworn that I say "double-you," but I just said it out loud & sure enough, I said "dub a you." Hmm.

I had to say it out loud a few times but I think I say double-ya. The deep south upbringing sneaks out again!
