My 4yo and I made crayon hearts this weekend. I have a silicon heart muffin tray that I can put in the oven. Ds helped me rip paper off of the crayons, broke them into little pieces then filled the tray.

If you are on Pinterest, there are tons of awesome ideas if you search.

If you want to make valentine cards, I really like the heart "person" printable here: http://inchmark.squarespace.com/inchmark/2011/2/8/homemade-valentines-recap.html

It worked great for DS1 (5) and DS2 (3). Easy, kid friendly and made at home.

At our YMCA, they had made paper heart chains. Instead of doing circles with the strips of paper, they did a hard fold in half for the bottom of the heart and just taped them turned inward to make it shaped like a heart. Very cute in pink, red and white.

I cut out a bunch of construction paper hearts and had DS glue them onto cards. He loved using the glue. Last year I bought a bunch of stickers, and he pasted them on the cards.
