How does the sale work if you need to return something? If I order 4 and return 1 - they just credit me a $1? If I order 8 and return 4, but 2 of the 4 were the ones I was charged $1 for, then I don't get the benefit of the sale?? I've never ordered during this sale for this reason!

If you return something you'll get the standard price, minus 25%, back. They average out the saving of the $1 item across all the items you purchased

They used to offer Catch of the Day (COTD) for 20% off, and then there would be another 20% FS/FR code floating around that you could stack. That combined discount was generally the best prices of the season-- often better than the End of the Season sales. But this winter when they did COTD, there were no other promos around. I hope they go back to their old system! Of course, the problem with COTD is that they only put some stuff on sale everyday. I do remember a 30% off day one or two times last season, and a handful of 25% off days- so that is even better than this current sale.

There were some % off the last sale, but they allow the stacking :( and i remember there were quite a few complains here about the new coupon policy.
