For some reason, I'm really wanting a fuschia handbag for spring/summer.

Good news - my purses last a long time because I don't carry one into work - so not a lot of use during the week. Bad news - makes me pretty cheap about them. But found a Cole Haan Ellie bag I really like....and found it for $100 off. Still more than I'd usually pay - but thinking I maybe should do it.

Thoughts? (This same bag is $100 more at Nordstrom - although the color may be slightly different.)

I love pink! I'd carry that for a long time, too. I've got a bag in a similar color that I've had for years. It's great for adding a pop of color.

I like unusual color bags (my current one is yellow) but I don't like that shade of pink. I like the style, it think it is classic.

I love that bag! I think it's a classic shape AND color. Would look awesome with many different outfits. And it's not like super bright/neon pink which I think would go out of style.

Would you like to see a picture of my Coach closet? Trendy colors, patterns, fabrics...all that stuff... I have it. I look at a well made purse as an investment. Eventually, it will be back in style. I don't regret any of my bags.

I just don't think i would use it long term. You might still like the color in the future but there is likely to be some purse trend that will make you feel like it is dated in some way. That has been my experience at least!

As someone in happy possession of an 80's-bright-purple bag from dooney & bourke I say go for it. Always fun and a great accessory!! :)

I love it! Great quality, good pockets, very comfy. I LOVE that their bags have a sturdy lead with hardware for your keys - very handy! (I have a couple of d&b bags). Was a present so I can't claim choice, but it was a great present! :)

I'm not a purse collector, but I have a number in fun colors and they are a great idea. I wear a lot of neutrals, so that pop of color is awesome. I still use a cheap bright yellow Target bag and always get complements. I have a small Cole naan bag in a darker pink, a Kate spade in a patent coral, and they don't look dated even after years.

I love pop of color bags! I don't think I ever had a black or dark brown handbag (not that I can remember at least!) :). Apple green, light teal, yellow and violet are my faves... Or 'boring' red for winter. I don't overly colorful clothing or shoes and find colorful bags the perfect accessory :)

Thanks for all the input - decided to order (given the price and free returns) and see what I think. Knowing that it's a somewhat classic shape helps - and if it's the color I think/hope, it will get a lot of use. Even in summer I wear a lot of black, so it will provide some color to a relatively neutral outfit.

Will try to remember to post when it arrives - stay tuned.

Realized I forgot to come back and give the update. Ordered--->Received-->Returned. The color was way too purple (?) for me - and the shape wasn't quite right. (Think I could have learned to live with the shape, but not the color.)

Thanks for the input!

I agree! I have purple patent, silver metallic, etc and I come back to all of them, eventually!
