I'm not a huge fan of the Knot Genie, I think it pulls but now I want to try the tangle teezer.

Thanks! We have a tangle teezer, which we love. But the hair salon we just went to used the Knot Genie, so now my DD wants one in silver. Good deal!

Thanks, Melaine! You just saved me $13 or so. We have the TT and both of my curlies like it...I think I'll just hit up Sally's for another one for my son (that isn't shockingly bright pink!).

Glad it helped! De-tangling is a serious business around here. We still use both brushes but I always reach for the TT first. DDs brush my hair with the KG and I looooove it because it's more of a brisk scalp massage. But I have no tangles.

We picked up the KG from our local sweet and sassy hair salon and my girls love it. True, it can be hard on the scalp if you are not gentle, but my girls have not complained. I paid $10 at the store. I might check out the TT to see if the girls prefer that and keep the KG myself because I love it. It feel great on my scalp.

We've had lots of luck with The Wet Brush. It's about $7 on Amazon right now. I've gotten it for cheaper on Amazon before.

I was wondering if anyone used these for boys. I have a curly haired DS who HATES to have his hair combed. It gets all tangled/matted at the back from sleeping and sitting in the carseat. Sometimes I cut off the mats instead of combing them out. :bag
