Having a bad parenting day.

DS2 is a handful as I've posted about before. I just need to hold it together til I see the therapist next Friday, get him a hearing test (also next Friday) and get with the OT (the following week).

Wish me luck!

 Some days are so trying and it seems like the tunnel goes on forever with no light in sight. Hang in there and try to carve out a little relaxation time for yourself.

Bad parenting days are the hardest, aren't they? Put the kids to bed, drink a glass of wine (or whatever) and repeat the mantra "tomorrow is a brand new day". It will be OK.

ack-- those days are just the worst! :( *bigbighugs* tomorrow is another day, right? whenever i feel like the worst mother in motherville i try to remember that my child eats well, sleeps safely and wakes up singing (much of the time). things reallyreally can't be *that* bad when those things are the case

(this is what i had to tell myself after screaming in her face last week... i was so ashamed, but also felt justified for losing it... ugh. it was awful)

and again, just, *hug*

Hugs! Tomorrow is a brand new day, and kids are resilient- don't beat yourself up, especially since you're already doing a lot to get things taken care of for him (hearing test, etc.)! You're a great mom! :grouphug:

Aww thanks you guys. DH came home and put DS1 to bed after I had put DS2 to bed with a tirade of "Stupid mommy" ... now an hour later I am feeling better (thanks you all!). I am going to go to bed myself now. DS2 woke up in the middle of the night last night (after puking all night the night before) and came into our bed (DH was away last night) and then peed in our bed. Guess that should have been my sign that today was going to be rough.

Off to bed now to get a lot of sleep and look to a better tomorrow!

 It's tough to be a mom, but you are trying the best that you can and doing a good job. I hope that the hearing test and eval will shed some light on what is going on with your son, so he can get therapy to get through this.

Honey, you need a big 'ole glass of wine. Or the full bottle with a twisty straw for just you. Here's hoping tomorrow is a much better day.

Bad night here too. DD is super independent and her listening ears were definitely not on tonight. She got in trouble and then *I* felt bad....oh this dang parenting thing. What works for one rarely works for the other kid (in our case) and I just keep thinking after 16 yrs I should expect the blow ups and such (from a 4 yo especially). I still feel awful when we have a bad day though!

Thankfully my precious one is sound asleep with a little angelic face (horns have retracted for the night)!

Hope your day goes better tomorrow!!!!!
