Have you ever had a pool filled in?

What did they do? Pull out the concrete surround? Or just fill it in? How much did it cost?

Thanks! We are looking at real estate in an area where in ground pools are fairly common and do NOT want a pool. So we just want a ballpark on what it would cost to take one out. Dh did some googling and is guessing 10k, which sounds about right from your thread? But then we still have figure fill dirt and landscaping on top of that?

That's correct. It cost around $15K total including landscaping, but that was over ten years ago!
They had to knock down and later replace a small side fence to get the equipment in, but if you have easy access the cost will be less.

DH's parents had it done over 15 yrs ago and it was, "free," b/c the ppl who did it wanted the pool. So, they took it out and filled it all back in with dirt.
