how to choose/know the best carrier for your child?

I have a baby ktan though I have not used it even 2 times with my 4 month old son I have a feeling he does not like it. Could be I have to try again in a different position? I am thinking about getting an ergo which seems attractive but it costa so much 90$ or more and I don't know how my 4month old will like it? He is close to 14 pounds. Is there any way to try different baby carriers to see what fits you and ur baby best without spending a fortune on several different baby carriers? I am 5.5 and close to 15lbs now but plan to loose 25lbs in the coming months Ty

There might be a baby wearers group near you and they sometimes have meetings for people to try on different options. You might also be able to find a store with some options to try on. I could not get the Ergo to work until dd was about six months old. My kid never liked a carrier unless I was moving so she usually screamed until I got her settled and started walking.
