This week they are celebrating Dr. Seuss so I'd love it if it could be Seuss related.

It does need to be dairy free (DS is allergic to dairy).

Bonus points if you can make it savory instead of sweet.

The only things I can think of are

1. Pinwheels of ham & tortilla using hummus instead of cream cheese stacked on a mini rice cake to look like the hat from Cat in the Hat. (rice cake, pinwheel with ham on outside, pinwheel with tortilla on outside, pinwheel with ham on outside).
2. Chocolate avocado pudding with a cherry on top and call is Schoop....OR can you add food coloring to chocolate? I could color it blue and call it blue goo....

Would love all you creative mamas & papas to chime in!

ETA: Also trying to avoid eggs due to another food allergy.

Make the egg muffin recipe in the cooking forum with ham in them and dye them green.

Oh, I should mention, I was hoping to avoid eggs because there is another food allergy in the classroom to eggs.

Thanks...I may forgo trying to avoid eggs and make it easy on myself. I love some of these ideas...and if you go further...one of the sites has deviled eggs with avocado & ham as the filling...so green eggs & ham....yum!

Well an easy, but sweet one, would be sugar cookies cut in the shape of two fish...one red, one blue.

Pancakes cut/dyed the same way would work, but not sure how to keep them warm.

I was thinking I could do something with star fruit if I could find it inexpensively enough. Maybe just a slice of star fruit on a slice of orange or apple? Wasn't sure if this would be filling enough, though.

Well, I'm sure they'll have the same thing next year...so now I'm armed with some ideas!

We actually made Avocado & Ham deviled eggs for green Eggs & Ham and I also sent slices of orange with a slice of starfruit on top as "Star Bellied Sneech" snacks. I think they were a hit.

No problem, glad you enjoyed it too! :) My sons especially loved the dinosaur tortillas with the honeydew melon (cinnamon and sugar toasted dinosaurs). It fit their dinosaur week at school perfectly!
