We adopted a cat from a rescue organization today. She had been rescued with her tiny kittens from a kill shelter. Her kittens were adopted (she was still a kitten herself), but she was left behind. She's a beautiful, sweet, long-haired calico. They named her Daisy, and we're just not digging the name.

The problem is that I came up with the name Clementine which I think is adorable and fits her well. We love that name! But, DS1 brought up the fact that the name "Clementine" adds yet another "C" name to our family. Everyone but me, even the other cat, has a "C" name. In fact, if we keep the name Clementine, she, the other cat, and DS2 will all have "Cl" names. I did not ever plan on this happening, even with DS1 and DS2. I fall in love with a name and then realize it's yet another C name.

So, what do you think? Clementine? Daisy? Another suggestion? HELP!

She's not a Daisy for sure.

I like Aggie

I'm the lone Daisy vote, but I posted pre-picture. She's totally a Clementine!

She's totally a Clementine.

Guess it was just meant to be. :)

Enjoy her...she's precious.

She's a beautiful cat! I think Clementine suits her.

She has similar coloring to my parents' cat, Echo. Echo was actually a Tortie, but she had the same split black/orange face as Clementine. ;)

I was not keen on Clemintine as a name until I saw her---definitely Clemintine!

I voted Clementine, I think it suits her. She's adorable!

She could also be a Cleo.

She could also be a Cleo.

LOL! That's the name of our other cat! We named her Cleopatra because she had a thin, Egyptian cat look to her.

No name ideas here! I like Clementine better than Daisy, but wonder if it'll get a bit wordy (long) to say when you're calling for her? I like Cleo, too, but obviously you can't have a Cleo 1 and Cleo 2! :)
Thanks for sharing your pic- how nice of you to rescue her! I'm partial, as ours is a rescue, too... hope you have a long & happy life together!

Calliope

Okay it is another C name, but I almost named my last pair of cats Cleo and Calliope. :)
(Technically they were to be Clio and Calliope after the muses, but close enough)

Clementine and Daisy are both cute!

My torte was named Daphne. She also answered to turtle, but she was definitely a Daphne.

I love the name Clementine and wanted to say THANK YOU for rescuing a shelter kitty, especially one past the tiny kitten stage!!

Calicos are usually extremely loving- I wish you many years of joy with your new family member!

Well, I just finished watching the last Harry Potter movie and now I am determined to name some of my future pets those great Harry Potter names, so, how about:

Bellatrix
Narcissa
Luna
Ginny
Hermione
Fleur
Minerva

She does look like a Clementine, though! What a pretty cat!

She could also be a Cleo.

Ha! I was also going to suggest Cleo - we had a beautiful calico named Cleo when I was growing up.

That being said, I love the name Clementine and it seems to suit her. Other non-C names I thought of were Maisie and Fiona.

She's beautiful! And like a PP, just wanted to give you a shout-out for adopting an older shelter cat - so glad to hear that she got a chance from you guys!

I love the name Clementine. In fact it is on my list of "names I love but am not sure I could give them to an actual child but would certainly give to a pet"

:yeahthat:

And my experience with a calico is the same as cntrymoon2. . . best cat ever, and I'm not a cat person!

She is beautiful! I like the name Clementine, she looks like one. I have a calico named Gypsy, and it totaly suits her personality. She is a free spirit.
